Tuesday Fitness Class

Since I usually don’t have much to say about my Tuesday Hips/Buns/Thighs/Abs Express class anymore, I’ll comment about it here.  Thanks so much!

4/15/08: Tax day!!  Our bodies were taxed too.  Work out was great.  Yesterday I bought some resistance bands.  Now I can do some work at home now too.  Yippee!!

4/8/08:  Today we did actual fire hydrants on the floor.  My inner thighs and abs were a little sore today.

4/1/08:  I’m a bit late on posting.  Class was good and my abs were a little sore Wednesday morning.  I think I need to get a resistance band to do those “fire hydrant” step things at home.  I like doing those better as they aren’t as hard on the knees/wrists.

We take a full circle band and place it on our calves.  We need to keep it tight while we take steps to each side.  8, 4, 2, 1.  Do slow steps and then quick steps.  It is the equivalent of fire hydrants.

3/25/08:  No class today, Spring break.  I did do 2 15 minute videos, thighs and buns so I wasn’t a total slug.

3/18/08:  I know I’m a little late on posting this.  Class was good, we did two minutes abs at the end and my obliques are a little sore!  Instead of traditional fire hydrants, we use resistance bands and take steps to the side.  It’s good and not so hard on the knees.  :)

3/11/08:  I went to class today and my legs are a little jelly-ish right now.  We’ll see how I am tomorrow.  We used the resistance bands today and holy cow…

3/4/08:  I went to class today!  YIPPEE!!  We used the resistance bands and OMG, I think my legs have turned to jelly.  We did 2 minutes of abs today, but it was tough.  I really need to start waking up when hubby leaves to do some strength, but Baby Girl has been sleeping horribly or Little Man has been waking up…  Excuses, excuses…

2/26/08:  Nothing to report on.  I did not go to class today, but I did end up scraping off the driveway.  Does that count for cardio?

2/19/08:  We had our regular instructor today.  Bunches of squats and we did fire hydrants!! YEAH!!!   When going down the stairs when I got home, my legs were kind of jelly-ish and I would be surprised if my abs weren’t a little sore tomorrow.  update 2/20/08:  Yeah, abs and thighs are a little sore today.  LOL!!  We were put through the wringer Tuesday!  :D

2/12/08:  Substitute instructor.  The class size in waning, which is good because then we get to use different equipment.  Today we used a step for a prop and a little pink squishy ball.  It was good!

2/5/08:  Today was the regular instructor.  It was a pretty good class.  There weren’t as many people there today.  The weather isn’t horrid, just foggy and rainy.  What I really need to do is take what I’m learning from the class and do it one other time during the week.

1/29/08:  We had a substitute today.  My legs are a tiny bit sore, but not achy.  This is good.

1/22/08:  Class is always torture.  My inner thighs are a little sore today.  My upper back is sore, from doing plank/crocodile during my yoga class, but all over, I feel good.

    What is a ‘fire hydrant’?

Fydrants are this: You are down on hands and knees. Imagine that there is a fire hydrant to your side and imagine that you are a puppy who needs to go pee. So you lift up your leg!

You can do other things as well (circle your leg and kicks for example) and it’s a really good butt firmer.
