Cardio/Strength
Since there usually isn’t much to write about, I’ve decided to start a page for my Thursday cardio/strength. The plan is to alternate Thursday with the Circuit machines and either the Elliptical or the treadmill. Here’s where I’ll keep myself accountable!
In light of new work plans, I may not be faithful to this for a while. I’m hoping that I’ll be able to.
4/15/08: I’ve been kind of slacking here, ‘eh?? I bought a bicycle for my birthday and a helmet and an odometer. Today, i actually ride it the 1.5ish miles to the gym. The way home was BRUTAL. Not because it was after class tired, but becasue it was riding into the wind tiring. WOW!! the mile and a half took about 15 minutes each way. Not bad, considering I haven’t ridden a bike in how long?? Exactly! Well, between that and having to stop for red lights too.
3/18/08: Before class I walked on the treadmill. Not quite 20 minutes so I didn’t go quite .75 miles. Oh well. Hopefully the weather will be nicer next time and I’ll get to walk to class. It’s only 1.5 miles, so very doable.
3/13/08: I made it back to the gym today for the circuit. The first time in a long time (since 1/24!). Boy do I feel it today, the day after. I did manage to do at least three sets of 15 on each of the machines, except the shoulder press. Even on the lightest weight, 10 lbs, I only did a set of 12 and two sets of 8.
3/11/08: 20 minutes on the elliptical before class I went 1.6 miles. The first mile was forwards and the .60 backwards. I calculated that I live 1.5 miles from the gym. On those nice weather days, I’ll walk it or I can get my old bike from home and ride it. We’ll see.
3/4/08: Only 10 minutes on the elliptical before class today. I ended up going not quite 0.75 miles. Hopefully I’ll have another update on Thursday and go back to do the circuit. I did not go at all last week and I felt icky.
2/18/08: I jumped on the elliptical for not quite 25 minutes before class. I went 1 mile forward and 0.60 mile backward. I was hoping to go at least 0.75 mile backward, but I was going to run out of time. Oh well. Thursday I should be able to get back to the gym and do circuit training.
2/12/08: Since I wasn’t going to get on later this week, I headed to the gym a little early and walked on the treadmill for 15 minutes. 0.90 miles. Does clearing the driveway count as cardio? It didn’t take long, it was barely an inch and it’s the dry powdery snow.
2/5/08: Well, it’s not Thursday, but Tuesday. I got to the gym for my fitness class a little early, so I did the Elliptical for 10 minutes and managed 0.75 miles. I guess that’s okay.
1/24/08: Today I did the circuit machines. I don’t have many stats because it wasn’t until after I was done that I picked up some tracking sheets. I did do 2 sets of 15 of each of the machines. edit 1/25: My upper back and arms are sore today. A good sore.
