Week in Review and News!
Since I was bad and didn’t post this last week:
Wednesday, August 19th: Wii Fit free step in the morning. 1986 steps! LOL!! great year. 20 minutes while watching the morning news.
Thursday, August 20th: Wii Fit Strength.
- Single Leg Extension (20 reps) Very unstable
- Push-up/Side Plank (6 reps) I did this knee dwon
- Torso Twists (6 reps)
- Jackknifes (30 reps)
- Lunges (30 reps each leg) UGH!!
- Advance Step. One of my worst scores ever. Perfect: 199; OK: 125; Misses: 12! Total score 523.
Sunday, August 23: We went to the park while hubby was practicing softball. We brought the kids bike so they could ride, and I walked. The total mileage was Just a hair under a mile and a half. more detail.
Tuesday, August 25th: I had to drop the car off for an oil change. since it is right by the old school, I brought my bike to ride home. Way quicker than waiting for the shuttle. When the car was done, I rode the bike back. Total mileage 3.62 miles.l
News: I signed up to run/jog/walk a 5K. I’m going to start training and you’ll here ALL about it here. The race is 31 days away. September 26th. Wish me luck! I’ll be following this training guide, starting with Week 3.

WiR: August 8
Saturday, August 8: We were on vacation and decided to take in the sights. We went to the Timpanogos Cave. This was a mile and a half hike up a mountain (elevation change of 1,092 feet).
Sunday, August 9: Still on Vacation. We walked around Park City. Not sure how far. We were wandering.
Monday, August 10: No major hiking or walking, but we did take the dogs for a walk around the neighborhood in the evening.
Tuesday, August 11: Again, no major walking, but around O’Hare when we landed. We did take public transportation and we did walk a bit back to our car.
Wednesday, August 12: Back home again. I did ride my bike to a co-worker’s house to help her set-up her computer. The total mileage riding is 11.45 miles.
That’s it for the week. Kids are back home and everything will normalize a bit.

Airport update
On Friday we headed out of O’Hare to Salt Lake City via Minneapolis. we were NOT on the plplane stuck for 40 plus hours… I did wear a pedometer at the airports. Here’s my steps:
- O’Hare: 4,621 steps.
- Minneapolis-St. Paul: 2,365 steps

WiR: Aug 2
Sunday, August 2: Did a little bit of Wii fit today.
- Advanced Step (I did this one twice) First time: (Perfect: 236; OK 100; total: 572) Second Time: (Perfect: 267; OK: 69; Total 603)
- Advanced Hoop 10 minutes! I think I’m crazy for doing that one. It was my second time round (get it? hee hee) and results: Right: 1717; Left: 1708; Total: 3425. They go to the right first. 5 minutes each side.
- Jackknife challenge: 30 reps. I beat the coach. Next time I’ll have to do at least 40.
- Plank challenge: 80 seconds. I beat the coach too. Next time I’ll have to go at least 90 seconds. Plank on Wii in on the forearms. I tends to do it on my hands.
- After dinner we went for a little walk. We stopped at a friends house and we ended up chatting for about 30 minutes. The walk was just under a mile.
Monday, August 3: Just over an 8 mile bike ride.

Tuesday, August 4: The only workout today was they dry heaving at 2:00 in the morning…
I was feeling better in the evening, so I did a little bit of Wii Fit. I did free step for 10 minutes (988 steps) and Advanced step twice. First time: (P: 194; ok: 140; miss: 2; Total 528) second time: (P: 238; ok: 100; miss: 1; Total: 570). Not my best, but that’s understandable. I did use my platform step underneath the balance board for a bit of extra height. It also took me several minutes to figure out the volume on the Wii remote so I could watch the Cubs game during free step.
Wednesday, August 5: While Hubby was playing softball at the park, I alternatley jogged and walked 4 half mile laps. Total time was 26 minutes 33 seconds. Jogging portion: 10:22; walking: 16:11. Not bad jogging considering! Oh. I brought my iPod and ear buds, but I forgot to check that the earbuds jack fit. They were too small so I didn’t have any music.
Lesson learned.
Thursday, August 6: Wii Fit. Advanced Step with the extra platform. I think I’m still getting used to the extra height as I’m not doing so well. Only a score of 530 which didn’t even register.
I went down to basic step (which seems so slow and got a score of 213.
Friday, August 7: Lots of walking. We are on route to O’Hare. We’ll be walking around O’Hare and Minneapolis airport. I’ll have to update when we get back from our trip. I’ll plan on wearing a pedometer.

WiR: July 27
Monday, July 27: sadly, nothing
Tuesday, July 28: Long bike ride. Read here for more about it. My butt was sore that evening.
Wednesday, July 29: bike ride to the park hauling the kids
Thursday, July 30: Wii fit. Rhythmic Boxing 10 minutes (1154 points) and Advanced Step (582 points)
Friday, July 31: Kids Run for Fun. We walked to the school and Baby Girl and I did our lap in about 3:03 (She tripped and fell) and Little Man did his lap in 2:25. Would have been faster, but he walked the last couple meters.
