WoYoPracMo 1.30-1.31

WoYoPracMo 1.30 was Wii Fit Practice

  • Half Moon
  • Chair
  • Deep Breathing
  • Down Dog
  • Bridge
  • Lotus focus

WoYoPracMo 1.31 was free style.

  • Sun Salutations (2 times through)
  • Seated spinal twisting (5 breaths each side)
  • Fish pose (10 breaths)
  • Plank/Up Dog/Child’s Pose/Down Dog sequence.  3 breaths each pose, 3 times through

That wraps up WoYoPracMo for Jan 2009!

Next up for February, My 15 minutes of fitness challenge.  All you have to do is move around for 15 minutes a day and blog about it.  No prizes though, just a sense of accomplishment.  It can be active play with the kids, a fitness video, Wii Fit even.  Have fun.

WoYoPracMo 1.29

Lunchtime Yoga on the Wii fit.  I’ve unlocked all 15 Yoga poses and did them all today.

  • Deep breathing
  • Half moon
  • Warrior II
  • Tree
  • Sun Salutation
  • Knee lift
  • Palm tree
  • Chair
  • Triangle (more like revolved Triangle)
  • Down dog
  • Dancer
  • Cobra
  • Bridge
  • Knee Down spinal Twisting
  • Shoulder Stand

The last four are not done on the balance board.  One of the balance games is Lotus focus and I did that today too.

Introduction

Well hello there everyone!  I’m Jenn and I’m going to join Emily in writing about fitness in general and my attempt at 15 minutes of fitness each and everyday.

Shall I tell you a bit about myself?  I’m a stay at home mother to a lovely little toddler I call L on these here internets and am newly pregnant with baby #2.  Hubby and I have been married for four years and live in sunny Florida with our two mutts.  I also write at my personal blog, Jenn’s Den.

Exercise is not my strong point, but I really want to stick with my goal of 15 minutes a day this year.  15 minutes seems very reasonable and doable, so I hope to succeed on most days at least.

WoYoPracMo 1.28

Today was an early morning 10 minute practice, free style.

  • Sun Salutation (twice through, second time held runner stretch, plank, updog, down dog 2 breaths)
  • Sun Bird sequence from Namaste Yoga yesterday (twice through)
  • Seated spinal twisting.

The sun bird sequence in more detail  is:

  • Cat lift (dog)
  • Cat
  • cat lift (dog)
  • Down dog
  • Sunbird lift (Right knee on the floor left leg up)
  • Gate (kind of assisted side plank)
  • Sunbird bow
  • One legged down dog
  • Repeat with other leg up/down

WoYoPracMo 1.26-1.27

WoYoPracMo 1.26 was Wii Fit Yoga.  I unlocked several yoga poses.

  • Deep breathing
  • Half Moon
  • Tree
  • Down dog (kinda hard on the Wii board)
  • Dancer
  • Cobra
  • Bridge

Also, I did some more of the strength poses.  Lunge (my thighs are killing me), Rhythmic boxing (I’ve unlocked the 6 minutes and 10 minute challenge.  I’ve done 6 minutes), Super Hula Hoop (6 minutes and I’ve unlocked 10 minutes) among others.

WoYoPracMo 1.27 was an episode of Namaste Yoga, Sunbird.  Poses include:

  • Cat lift/cat
  • Cat Lift/down dog
  • Sunbird lift
  • gate
  • Sunbird bow
  • one legged down-dog

It was interesting tonight.  The kids were kind of eating dinner but mostly climbing on me.

WoYoPracMo 1.25

Here we are.  One week to go and then off I go to 15 minutes of fitness challenge.  Who’s in??

For WoYoPracMo I did an episode of Namaste Yoga.  The episode is called “Lord of Fishes”.  It was a bit different and the poses included:

  • Squat
  • Roll Back
  • one leg forward
  • twist
  • Twist around the other way so that your arm is wrapped around your leg and your hands are behind your back!

I’m not that flexible and I am hoping to jump on the Wii Fit this evening for some more yoga.  Will update if I do.  :)

WoYoPracMo 1.24

I used my Yoga Deck today and did several of the poses.  I held each for 5 breaths.

  • Sun Salutations (1 round)
  • Triangle
  • Warrior I & II
  • Chair
  • Tree
  • Standing Forward Bend
  • Yoga Mudra ~ kneeling
  • Mountain
  • Half Moon

That was it.  :)

WoYoPracMo 1.23

Today Hubby’s phone rang while he was in the shower, about 5:15 am.  I dragged my arse out of bed and used the Wii Fit Yoga this morning.  I wasn’t sure if I’d have time later.  I did unlock another Yoga Pose this morning as well as another Aerboics.  Yippee!!

The Yoga poses unlocked so far (and I did each of them once):

  • Deep Breathing
  • Half Moon
  • Warrior II
  • Tree
  • Sun Salutation (Gentle Back Bend, forward bend, chair repeat)
  • another balancing pose with your knee upfront
  • Palm Tree
  • Chair

I finally made it across the tightrope and did the advance step that I unlocked Free-step (which goes for 10 minutes, I’ll have to try that sometime).  The other games unlocked are the penguin game and the bubble game.

WoYoPracMo 1.22

WoYoPracMo 1.22 was an episode of Namaste Yoga. The poses include:

  • Cat lift to down dog
  • Swan lift/bow/lift
  • Seated twist
  • Half lotus
  • swan lift to plank
  • Down dog

Also today I did some more Wii Fit at lunch time.  I have unlocked three more activities today, and I’m thrilled with my progress.  This is something that I can do well.  It’s not so easy for my 5 year old, although he can do the running activities better than I.  But he does have more energy than me for it!  I do want to try more of the strength before I do my review and unlock more of the Yoga poses.
