Last day of WoYo

Today is the last day of WoYoPracMo & NaBloPoMo as well.  I did get in about 10 minutes.  Little Man was playing games on the TV, Baby Girl was eating Mac & Cheese and dinner was cooking.

  • Half Cow
  • Eagle Arms
  • Seated Spinal Twisting
  • Knee Down Spinal twist
  • Shivasana

That’s it.  I’ve made it with only not practicing on 3 or 4 days.

back in the saddle again!

Today I woke up to cut the banana bread that I made last night for hubby to bring into work.  Instead of doing yoga, I went ahead and washed my face and got dressed.  Baby Girl walked in about 6:10 or so.  She wanted to wake up Little Man, so we did.

They got dressed and I fed them breakfast.  Bunny Town was on, so we watched that as they ate breakfast and then by 7;00 we were out the door.  I had some errands to run, but I was able to do them on my bike!  YIPPEE!!  On the way to school, I stopped by our bank to make a deposit.  We then dropped Baby girl off and then Little Man.  I headed home to ditch the trailer and have some breakfast (Yogurt with blueberries)

After that, I headed to my bank and to Meijer’s to pick up some photos for Saturday then off to the gym.  Since it was early (I had planned on that) I did my yoga there.  Somewhere between 15-20 minutes. 

  • Sun salutations (2nd time through holding poses for 3 breaths)
  • Moon Salutaions (holding each for 5)
  • Plank, Downdog Child’s pose (5 breaths)
  • Standing straddle forward bend
  • Fish

I think that was it, or at least that’s all that I remembered.

Mileage & Yoga

 Rode 17.330 miles.  Mileage consisted of:

  • Tuesday:  Drop off at daycare; Ride to the gym; Ride to the park
  • Wednesday:  Daycare drop off
  • a couple of trips to the parks

I did Mcdonald’s 15 minute Yoga DVD this morning after hubby went to work.  I did flexibility one.  I was so not flexible this morning.  After that I decided to torture myself with core.  Lots of crunches.  We’ll see how I feel tomorrow.

I’m not sure how much bike riding I’ll be doing this week.  I hate summer colds.  I took the GOOD fake Psuedophed, but it expired 09/05 so I’m not sure itf it’ll really work.   It always amazes me how much snot can accumulate in the nose.

Oh..  after my strength workout Friday morning, I was only a little sore Saturday.  This is good!

Attempted yoga

I attempted yoga mid morning.  I didn’t feel good so I stopped.  Maybe I’ll try again later.  Spinal rolling didn’t feel good and neither did knee down twist and yoga mudra.  I think I’m getting sick.  :(

Mid morning yoga

While the kids were watching My Friends, Tigger and Pooh I got about 10 minutes of yoga in.

  • Sun Salutations
  • Fish Pose
  • Knee down spinal twisting
  • Sitting spinal twisting
  • Supported Tree (lying down on the floor)
  • Yoga mudra
  • some side to side spinal rocking in between

It’s a warm day so we are heading off to the spray ground!

Up early

Since I was awake when hubby left for work this morning, I decided to get up.  Also, I knew I was in good company.  My college buddy, Cinturon was also awake.  I’m hoping that I too can get my butt out of bed when hubby does to do some exercising.

This morning I did 15 minutes of Yoga, McDonald’s 15 minute DVD, up for a challenge and stress relief.  After that I thought I would torture myself with some strength training, with weights.  That meant lots of squats.  I’ll be sore by Noon.

Cinturon, we can keep each other accountable, even though we are halfway across the state from each other!

A little evening yoga

Hubby is mowing, so I thought I’d sneak in 10 minutes…

  • seated forward bend
  • Knee down spinal twisting
  • A little bit of breath of Joy
  • cat/dog stretches
  • Spinal side to side rolling in between

More Lunch time Namaste Yoga

I did a bit of yoga before heading to the shower today.  The sequence I chose was the seated twist series.  But we did only one seated twist.  go figure…

  • Down dog
  • Swan lift (pigeon) swan bow, swan lift again
  • Seated twist
  • Half lotus forward bend
  • swan lift
  • plank
  • Down dog

That was it.  I did some spinal rocking side to side during the fast forward of the commercials.

Yoga, sort of

My lower back has been bothering me, so I’m stumped as to what feels good.  The spinal twists and forward bends don’t quite reach the spot.  The one thing that I’ve found that works is spinal rolling.  Side to side, not front to back.  Most of my practice tonight, at least 7-8 minutes of it was this spinal rolling and circles with my knees.  When I do this, my back makes some popping noise.  Not so good.  When I go in for my annual violation, I’ll be sure to mention this.

The rest of my practice was spinal twisting (with both knees to the side), a little bit of forward bending and a full shoulder stand.  That’s about it. 

Fitness class was good today, I’m a bit sore tonight, but that also might be from bike riding and hauling the kids around.
