Last Workout of 2007
I hadn’t planned on it, but today I ended up going to the gym. I went with my supervisor and we walked on the treadmill. I average 3.5 mph and all in all (cool down included) I walked 3 miles.
Tomorrow is a new year. Tomorrow is WoYoPracMo and I will attempt to practice yoga for 10 minutes a day every day in January. I have confidence that I can do this, although Sunday’s will be a little tricky. Next week my fitness class starts and I am excited to be going. Fitness class on Tuesday and either the gym or a video on Thursday. That is my plan.

well…
I had planned on going to the gym today…
… but my body had other plans for me. I was feeling a little pukey and head achey. so I took a 45 minute nap. I feel a little better so I’m going to have some soup for lunch too. Maybe tomorrow.

I no longer fear the machines.
Today I went to the gym. It’s Thursday, so I went. I decided that I wasn’t going to fear the weight machines anymore. Thank you Seaswell. These machines aren’t the big clunky ones in the same area as the free weights. They are a little more separated from the rest of the gym. When I toured, one other person was there using them. Today It was me and one other person. I believe it was the same older man who was there when I toured the facility.
I did get a little bit of everything in. Arms, back and legs. I always knew that my legs are waaaay stronger than my arms. I did two sets of 10-12 reps on each machine. Usually 12 reps on my legs and 10 on my arms, LOL! I opted out of the ab machine altogether, because well, I just don’t like it. Besides, I can do crunches in the comfort of my own home.
I will have my fitness class Tuesday afternoons and if the weather is decent, I’ll go to the gym on Thursday, alternating between the machines and cardio (Elliptical, stairclimber or treadmill). If it’s horrible, I stay home and do a video. I’m still committing to twice a week.

My second class…
Was just as good as my class last week. The regular instructor was there today. We used the resistance band to really work our thighs hips and butt. Afterwards we did 15 minutes of abs. I’m sure I’ll be feeling it tomorrow. There is no class the next two weeks, but I was able to register for this class for next session. Yippee!!
Maybe on Thursday I’ll go and use the ellipitcal or the wieght machines. We’ll see!!

The aftermath…
… from yesterday’s workout. My thighs are killing me, my butt is a little sore and my abs aren’t too bad.
It was good, though. I took an actual class with an actual instructor with actual people. I’m going to sign up for next session. I can’t wait.

Holy Cow!!!
Because today was rainy and not icy, I went to the gym for a fitness class. The class is called Hips, Buns, Thighs Abs Express. It was awesome!!
We used the fitball, dumbbells and a weight bar. At the end of the class, my body was shaking and it felt great. It was also great to be in an actual class taught by an actual instructor.

Calling all Yogi’s
As a take on NaBloPoMo, I am participating in WoYoPra Mo. World Yoga Practicing Month. I know, I’m crazy, but it’ll get me back in the daily Yoga groove again. My own little 15-20 practice will be beneficial and I’m committing myself. Anyone else crazy enough to join me?

Da Gym!
I went to the gym again. I tried Da Elliptical. I think I have a new favorite machine!! If I would have been more up on it and realized how the machine started without staring at it for too long, I probably would have gone longer.
I think I ended up going about a mile and a third in about 20 minutes. After the first mile, I reset everything to see if I could figure it out. I probably could have gone longer, but I wanted to take a tour of the new place. They had renovated a couple of years ago. They person who gave me the tour, I had taken pilates with in the past!
Anyway, I’ll be signing up for at least one class and try to take another class as a walk in.

The gym
Today I went to the gym. Made sure that my membership was okay, (I didn’t need a new ID) and I walked on the treadmill for 15 minutes. That’s about all the time I had when all was said and done. I didn’t walk quite 1 mile, I was going 3.5 mph and then upped to to 3.9. I did incline it, but I don’t remember to what. So maybe next time I go, later this week, I’ll try something either the elliptical or the stair stepper. Vote and I will comply! LOL!!
OH I almost forgot! The fitness classes are now part of the membership. They do have a couple classes that I could go to on Tuesday’s and Thursdays over lunch. One is Hips/buns/thighs/abs express 1:15 Tuesday and Yoga/pilates at 10:15 on Thursday’s.
Yippee!!!!
